QuickTime is a set of extensions that, when used with movie software, lets you view video clips or even full-length video productions. Features introduced in QuickTime 4 include new audio controls for balance, volume, bass, and treble; ImageViewer support for BMP, GIF, JPEG, PICT, PNG, SGI, TIFF, Adobe Photoshop, and FlashPix; compression support for MPEG-1 Layer 3 (MP3) files, Sorenson Video, QDesign Music, Qualcomm PureVoice, H.261, GSM, and DVI; video support for AVI, DV, Macromedia Flash, OpenDML, GIF, and FLC; and more. This identifier is unique to each machine. As a result, any document could be traced back to its original creator. Guideon lets you remove these identifiers from files, without corrupting the data on these files. It replaces GUID with either zeros or an optional string you specify. It also makes back up copies of the files in case something unforeseen should occur. It will also expand files in UUencoded (UUE), BinHex (HQX), and MacBinary (BIN) formats, and other archives such as ARC, ARJ, and GZ. The indigenous technological breakthrough is claimed by Ram Suri, a software consultant with eight years experience who has been working on cryptography for the last four years. He has developed three models of the encryption software—Vajra-i32 bit, text encryptor Internet version, Vajra-128 bit universal file encryptor and Vajra-i128 bit Internet version. "Vajra-128 is used for data and information security. It is a multipurpose software independent of platforms and operating systems. It is targeted on Internet for secure message and file transfers. It will also solve all security problems in e-commerce. Credit card handling, electronic fund transfer, firewall protection and authentication of information can be done with Vajra," said Suri. Vajra has the capability to encrypt photographs, graphs and image files, data bases, autocad design files, document files and text files. It can also be used for jamming any application software. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Microsoft patches "Worm Explore" virus Microsoft has released patches for Outlook 97, 98, and 2000. Not everything is in here. The search engine is pretty new and it does not contain the exhaustive indexes and databases like the altavista does at the moment but it'll improve as more people try the service.
