When installed, ICQ Plus integrates with ICQ by adding a menu item to the main menu. Choosing this menu item brings up a dialog that lets you configure ICQ's appearance in several ways. You can apply a predefined skin or create one yourself. You can change background images, styles, and settings of dialog boxes (BMP, JPEG, and GIF images are supported), change the main menu image, set your own animated GIF or AVI file instead of standard ICQ animation, and change the style of buttons and other controls. Skin files can be imported and exported via ZIP files. ICQ Plus also has multiuser support. Version 2.01 includes an advanced layout mode that lets you use multiple images as a background, new options in the dialog border settings, ICQ for Groupware support, random skin options, the ability to use a custom animation for the ICQ button in the main dialog, support of transparency in animated GIF images, the ability to customize scrollbars in the main dialog, "MouseOver" support for buttons, and several bug fixes. This version also places an ICQ Plus button in the title bar that allows you to quickly change skins. Office 2000 combines the award-winning features from previous versions with "Web work and lifestyles," which let Office integrate seamlessly with the World Wide Web. In Office 2000, HTML has become a native file format, and Office applications can convert documents back and forth between HTML and previous document types without any loss in functionality. "Office 2000 unleashes the power of the Web work style, the most efficient way to work with business information and collaborate with others," said Microsoft president Steve Ballmer at the launch event in San Francisco. "The new Office Web-collaboration services announced today will allow users in both large and small businesses to benefit from the Web work style, regardless of their Web server infrastructure." Additionally, Office introduces a number of new features that will later make their way in Windows, such as personalized menus and a self-repairing capability that allows Office to automatically repair or replace missing or corrupt files. Office 2000, which will become available June 10th, comes in a number of versions, including Standard, Professional, Premium, Small Business, and Developer Editions. It enters your system through email. If you don't catch it, it may destroy crucial files on your system. Experts aren't sure how far Worm.ExploreZip has spread, but email systems at Microsoft, Intel, Symantec, NBC and General Electric were hit so hard that some had to shut down mail servers. That kind of malicious power should not be ignored. By the time you read this, millions more computers could be overwhelmed. If you use Windows 95, 98, or NT, or use Outlook or Exchange, this could affect you. Here's the quick facts: HOW WORM.EXPLORE WORKS The worm -- first discovered in Israel -- enters as an email attachment with the name "zipped_files.exe." Its deceptively friendly message reads: Hi "name of recipient"! I received your e-mail and I shall send you a reply ASAP. Till then, take a look at the attached zipped docs. Bye. Experts say you should delete it without opening it, and then empty the deleted items file. If it executes, the worm copies itself to the windows system directory with the filename "Explore.exe" and then modifies the WIN.INI file so the program executes each time Windows starts. It then uses the infected computer's email client to harvest email addresses in order to propagate itself. But behind the scenes, it plays real mean: searching C through Z drives and selecting crucial file extensions and rendering them useless by making them 0 bytes long. Result: Non-recoverable data or computer system failure. http://www.zdnet.com/zdnn/special/doublevirus.html http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/worm.explore.zip.html ---------------------------------------------------------------- N o t e s I request you all to forward this to anyone who you think may be interested.
