STS Tours has been providing adventure tours since 1992 in both Alaska and Hawaii. In Alaska we provide rafting and hiking adventures in Skagway and the Yukon Territory in Canada. In Hawaii we offer hiking and bicycling adventures in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and around the Big Island. Prior to our business in Alaska and Hawaii we operated a rafting company in Maine since 1981. We are licensed concessioners in several National Parks in Hawaii, Alaska and Canada. Hawaii Adventure Tours patrons vary in age from teenagers to seniors. Here in Hawaii a large portion of our customers are cruise ship passengers while in Alaska we provide excursions to organized groups of teens as well as cruise ship passengers and others. We have, over the years, tailored out adventures to fit the physical and skills level for each group and individual. None of our Hawaii adventures require more than average endurance or skill. We set a pace which is comfortable for all participants. Our substantial cruise ship business allows us to replace all of our equipment frequently. None of our bicycles or vehicles are more than two years old. We have chosen Nishiki bicycles because of their comfort, durable construction and ease of operation. We use Ford, fifteen passenger, air-conditioned vans, some of which are 4wheel drive for backcountry trips and Mauna Kea Summit. We also have a large inventory of support equipment to insure a safe and comfortable trip in any conditions. We choose our guides for their knowledge of Hawaii, the local ecosystem, and their customer relations skill. They have been with us for many years and are at home in any environment in which they may find themselves. All are experienced naturalists and can describe the surroundings accurately without boring you to death. They encourage the group to participate in the learning experience while enjoying the varied landscapes encountered on all of our trips. Each guide is certified in First Aid and CPR and many are EMT's.
