The Messenger is an amazing portral of Joan of Arc's short life as a supposed messenger of God. Besson, who also directed Milla Jovovich in The Fifth element, is great at creating amazing events and definitly does so here with large battle scenes and believable acting from the cast. Even if you have no interest in Joan of Arc, The Messenger is still a great story and a truely amazing movie.

Reason for Importance

It is always difficult to claim how accurate an event is that one has not personally experienced for themself. In fact that is the somewhat the point of this site. However, from reading the notes and watching the making of The Messenger, I feel that Besson did in fact create a movie that comes very close to reality (not that I know what is reality) and close to getting us into Joan's mind.
