House Rules - Character Creation |

  Background No character may enter play before a background has been submitted to, reviewed, and approved by a Storyteller. The background must include details of the character's mortal life as well as the Embrace. Clan The following Clans may be used for player characters:
No other Clans may be used for player characters. The Storytellers reserve the right to further restrict the use of these Clans depending on character population at the time. Attributes Characters must choose named Traits - we do not operate solely on numbers. The Traits you choose will not only give an indication as to what your character looks like, but also help judge your character's capabilities. Characters may not begin play with any category of Traits 'maxed out.' Abilities Characters may never have more than five (5) levels of any one (1) Ability. Disciplines A character's three starting Disciplines must be in-Clan. No in-Clan Discipline may be bought higher than the first Intermediate power at character creation. No out-of-Clan Discipline may be bought higher than in-Clan Disciplines ever. For more information on specific Disciplines, refer to the Discipline Rules. Backgrounds Allies/Contacts A background must be created for each Ally and Contact your character has. Generation The range of Generation for new characters is 10th-13th. No characters lower or higher than this may be played. Influence No more than three (3) points may be put into Influence. These transfer to specific Influences on a one-to-one basis. A character may not enter play with more than three (3) Influence Traits - this includes Free Traits from Clan Advantages. For more information on Influences, refer to the Influence Rules. Willpower Willpower is used per Laws of the Night, Revised Edition except that Willpower is slower in recovering. Willpower is recovered at the rate of one (1) point every two (2) weeks or at the discretion of the Storyteller. Increasing one's maximum Willpower through the use of experience can be done only at the discretion of the Storyteller. Morality/Virtues All characters must follow the Path of Humanity. Characters have seven (7) points to spend among the three Virtues, with a free point in each. Merits & Flaws The following Merits and Flaws require the wearing of a badge during the game to announce its presence:
Iron Will Contrary to LOTNR, Iron Will does not require the expenditure of Willpower to call for a retest against Dominate, however, it may only be used once per challenge. Lucky The Lucky merit has been changed so that it grants two (2) free retests per game session. It may only be used once per challenge. Freebie Points As written in LOTNR, new characters may use up to five (5) freebie points.
