There was a cute little redhaired girl who crossed my path whose name was Shaye Gabrielle. That's the only connection she has with the character, though. Certain bits of the "ChristianGirl" persona are based on a classmate of mine who invited me to lunch to try and save my soul. As for the Church of the New Dawn, I believe the name comes originally from an episode of Lois and Clark.

Terry's apartment, the computer lab she works in, and various technical details about the computer system are based on reality.

Karl/kdh is based on a real person, used with permission.

"Canadyke and Hamsterboi" is the creation of Shandryl and Kte'pi, but as far as I know there is not a comic book of it yet.

Justine and Alan are inspired by real people but do not greatly resemble them.

The description of Mimi Charis was inspired by Mimete of the Witches Five. The rule about carnivorous plants comes from a real building.

The name Melusine is borrowed from another fanfic, possibly a Davies, I don't really remember. Once I'd heard that name, though, I just couldn't think of the character as anything else.
