Just when you thought that "emo" was dead and gone, Last Day Parade puts things back into perspective. LDP play what is possibly the best live show I've seen in years. Listening to the CD can be equally stimulating. So, when I heard the three song CD they put out, I was by all means very impressed. Unlike seeing LDP live, listening to the CD you can go to the restroom knowing that if you missed anything you can simply play it again. This band has been in the making throughout the members' whole lives, and I'm not really sure they're aware of it. The rhythm section consisting of James and Sanjay began long ago, which is apparent in LDP with how very well connected they are. Gabe, gaining notoriety and experience from previous bands as well as flamenco guitar adds a very unexpected twist to the music. Ryan IS rock 'n roll (an element missing in almost all bands of the late 90' s). Everett brought the mid-west sound all the way from Michigan to give the final touch on the LDP sound. The chemistry is really what makes this band as explosive as anything, and as beautiful as everything. As a friend I really consider this band to be one of my favorites, and as a musician I can honestly say the same.
