Your personal web pages, once they are created, will need a place on the internet to be stored, ready for viewing. There are many companies providing this 'hosting' service for free. Your own service provider, if indeed you're connected, no doubt offers 5Mb free disc space for your own site.

We can upload your pages anywhere you tell us to, but if you have no preference, your site will be hosted by Prohosting.com, a company in the US. It is one of the few to offer free hosting without ugly promotional banners at the top of the page. To get around the complicated URL you will wind up with (http://free.prohosting.com/~your_name.index.html) we will set up a redirection URL, like the one this site uses. It will override the actual URL, making your site more personally yours.

This site is hosted by prohosting.com. Even though we registered 'YourMusicontheWeb.com', we chose to load this site up here so you could see exactly what you're getting. We use the redirection URL (listen.to/web-music)* which will be your way around a cumbersome address. It is yet another free service, the trade off being the small pop up window you may have noticed when you arrived here.

The option of registering your own domain name is also available to you if you don't mind spending the money, $35 US per year payable to Internic. Hosting at Prohosting.com ceases to be a free service if you choose this option, but there are other hosting companies who do offer free domain hosting (with banners). We can arrange it all for you if you wish. It will take up to two weeks, however, to get you up and running.

If you have a common name, you may find your first choice already taken, so be prepared for second or third choice. Sometimes adding a hyphen is all that's required.
