Born and raised in
Alabama (Roll
Tide!). I
made a valiant effort to attend Asbury
College in Kentucky. Wonderful college!
Beautiful campus and very spiritual. Ah,
but very expensive as well. I ended up
back in Enterprise, AL. and got my A.A.
in Business at Enterprise State Jr.
College.
From
there I went to Gainesville, Florida. (Go Gators! Unless they're playing
UA!) and eventually made my way to Salt Lake City, Utah (beautiful
state). After a year in the beautiful mountains I married
Chad Davies and went back to Florida
so he could finish working on his Ph.D. He finished in August
1995 and we transplanted to Kansas (whoever called Chicago
the windy city must have never been to Kansas!) to work at Cloud County
Community College physical science department, (as well as
assisting with the college radio station , and working as
director of the observatory, and anything else he find interesting!)
We are braving the cold much better than we were dealing with
the heat and humidity of Florida, although I have to admit
we miss the greenery. We are hoping to have a much better
garden than last year!
I
started working in the library and audio-visual
lab at the college, where I eventually
took on the duties of Web Master for the
college, and administrating the E-mail.
After 3 years there, I was given the
opportunity to work in the MIS office as
Computer Network Support Technician. I
still handled the Web page and the E-mail
and finished my CNE (Certified Novell
Engineer) in November 1999, so I stayed
pretty busy!
Chad and I also
ran an interdenominational ministry on campus, Cloud Campus
Fellowship (CCF for short). We had dinner and a Bible study
in our home on Monday nights, sponsored two evening shows
on the college radio station (KVCO 88.3 FM) and visited a
few music concerts every fall. The ministry boasted anywhere
from 2 to 20 students and had to move into the basement to
have room for every one! (What a great problem to have!) We
coordinated a lot of our activities with the Fellowship of
Christian Athletes (FCA), run by Ted and Kathy Schmitz. The
FCA group is still doing great!
Chad
was given an opportunity to teach at
Gordon College in Barnesville, GA, so we moved over the winter break (1999).
He is enjoying teaching physics and is
working with the astronomy instructor and
generally keeping busy as usual. I am
working at the Georia Experiment Station
in the Office
of Information Technology
as a Computer Support Specialist IV. GAES
is run by the Univ.
of Georgia College of Agriculture and
Environmental Sciences
and is in Griffin,
GA.
Now we just need to find a house and
we're all set!
In January 2000,
our great dog Sampson was
hit by a car. It was very sad, of course and we
miss him a great deal.
Everything after this point, and some
before, can be found in the journal
section.

great dog,

Florida (6 years ago!) |
This
is a more recent picture that I, obviously,
fiddled with.
