I found the graphic for this website on Moyras Web Jewels
(this site is no longer online...thanks to Moyra and all her beautiful
work!) and just had to use it. It's been so inspiring that I've started
reworking a few web pages of my own. (Check out my
Gallery page for views, links and updates!)
Favorite quote from the Tour de France -- "When
I saw the attack of Armstrong, I said to myself,
"Chapeau. It is a beautiful moment in cycling."

-- I have joined the blog (Web Log, basically an online journal) revolution.
It's 'baking
my noodle,' so check it out. My 'writings' link (above) now links
there. I update it a lot more often than I update this site. Check
out Chad's, as well; it's called Run
the Race.

- It has been a long time since I've bothered to update this page.
I have added pictures of our new birds and
new pictures of our 'Dorable Dogs!
7/01
- The Tour de France (Tour de Lance!) is in full swing
5/6/01
- I rode my first 1/2 century at the Sweet
Onion Century in Vidalia, Georgia, home of the
Vidalia onion, of course! The ride is held on
the 1st Saturday in May every year, this being the 5th
year they've done it. It was fun, but gentle
rolling hills just ain't the right description...we
rode into Mount Vernon,
for heaven's sake! OK...it wasn't too bad, but
there were some good hard climbs for a mediocre rider
like me! Chad, of course, rode the century ride,
his 3rd, I think.

- The Davies' Peloton
Project is in suspension for a few
months, but check out the Lance
Armstrong Foundation!
2/14/2001
- Just a quick update. On the personal side, I
am working towards my first metric century (66 miles)
and hope to ride it in Savannah in March. Then I
hope to do a complete century (100 miles) in May -- 5
years ago I had a hysterectomy for my birthday, now I
want to show off how much better my health is!
Chad is planning to ride in his first race in March at
the Macon Cherry Blossom Festival. I tell him he
has to start winning money to pay for this expensive
hobby of his! He plans to give half of
everything he wins to the Lance
Armstrong Foundation. He's doing so well, I
don't think anyone short of a professional has a
chance!
Gordon Christian Fellowship is
doing well -- we're talking about priorities and
time/life management this semester and the students
seem to be getting a lot out of it...I know I
am! March 4th is the first
dual worship service at Northside Christian Church
(Macon) and the new Adult Life Enrichment (Sunday
School-type classes) will begin...Chad has worked so
hard to get the classes lined up and the teachers
ready! It should be good and we're excited to
see the church growing so much! It's been
amazing to see the answered prayers as the church has
sought God's will and stepped out in faith in this new
adventure! 11/13/2000
- I've been having trouble with this web page, so
haven't been able to update it in a while.
Finally, I'm getting around to correcting and
updating! Our efforts for the Peloton Project
are going well. We've raised close to $200 and
are hoping that after the Christmas buying season is
over we'll be able to raise a LOT more. Our
first official 'building the bike' ride took place
this weekend. Chad rode his first century...100
miles in 4 hours 45 minutes! He's doing
great! I rode 30 miles, twice as far as I'd ever
ridden before! We're both a little stiff this
morning, but are doing well, considering!
Thanksgiving
is coming up and we're planning to have some of my
family over for dinner. They will arrive Wed.
night. We're planning a bon fire and will set up
the telescope one night, and plan to get a Christmas
tree while everyone is here and get their help
decorating our new house. It should be a lot of
fun! Of course, we'll probably also run up to
the outlet mall for some Christmas shopping,
too. It will be really fun having everyone. We
have some new pup pictures
up, if you'd like to see some of their summer fun!
6/20/2000 - It's been a while, but a lot has happened.
We bought a house and the pups
are growing! There isn't much to put here, since it's all on those pages, so
click over and see!
2/20/2000 - We're
finally settling in here in Barnesville.
On the sad side of our news, our
wonderful dog, Sampson died back in
January. To keep our other
wonderful dog, Canaan company, we brought
home a Golden Retriever puppy, who we
named Maxwell. But Canaan being
who she is, was not much company for Max!
So we brought Max's brother (Cooper) home
about a week later. Boy, we thought
our lives were busy in Concordia!
Chad
is enjoying teaching at Gordon, and I
started working last week. I'm working at
the Univ.
of Georgia College of Agriculture and
Environmental Sciences
on the Griffin Campus in the Office
of Information Technology
as a Computer Support Specialist IV.
Now we just need to find a house and
we're all set!
Oh,
yeah, we decided on the 2000 Subaru
Outback Wagon!
11/19/1999 - I finally
finished my CNE! Now I can
concentrate on moving to Georgia!
Chad will be working at Gordon
College
in Barnesville.
We're working hard on getting some
finishing touches on the house so we can
sell it and we're still searching for a
place to live in Barnesville.
10/1999 - Now to fill
you in on my life. I finished my
CNA (oh so long ago!) and am almost
finished with my CNE. At least I
passed the Net Tech course and have only
Install & Config. and Service
Support left. I'm working on
getting some CNE info up, but if you
haven't taken the Net Tech test, you'll
want to at least see my Pre-Exam Brain
Dump for a great study idea I got from
Annie at Network
Knowledge
in Kansas City. ((OK, I've run out of
time and am now on to other technology
that I feel way behind in, so I never
finished these pages and took down what
was there. Sorry.))
I'm still working
on the Cloud County Community College Web page, although I have a
lot more help with it now and still don't get it updated as often
as needed, as those of you who have seen it can attest! In fact, I
was searching for ideas for the college web site when I found Moyra's
Web Jewels! I found some other things as well, so I hope to get the
college web site updated over the next few months. (Lots of pages,
you know, and lots of people to approve the new look before it will
become official!)
On the personal side,
we're still working on our house, trying
to get it painted inside and out.
This week the exterior went from blue
with white trim to gray with rust-red
trim. I'm having trouble getting
used to it! The living room is
three shades of mauve, kind of a
sandstone look. It's really nice,
but we have to finish putting up the wood
crown molding. We hope to refinish
our hardwood floors soon, too. Very
busy...I am VERY busy!
The Monday night
Bible study with CCF is still going well. Dinner at 7:00 and study
at 8:00...this semester we're studying Parables. As always, we very
much enjoy the students who participate! We have had anywhere from
2 to 20 people and we never know how many will be there until they
come, so cooking is kind of frantic. Fortunately, Chad is a fabulous
chef and he can make a wonderful meal from almost nothing, so we never
go hungry and always have enough for everyone to be full (except the
time the men's and women's basketball teams showed up unexpectedly...we
were a little short on food that day!)
