About Final Rain
Greetings! I'm Jonathan McNeill, and somehow despite the seemingly endless supply of websites, you've run into one of mine! Statistically speaking that's highly improbable, but it is quite welcome. This particular website is one I put some of my poetry and writing, etc. on. Oh, and the stuff about the insomniac and all that, that's me. I often have trouble sleeping, which makes for a good time to write.
If you have already read some of my work you may have already guessed that I am a Christian. As such, some of the poetry on this website was written on short term mission trips (Ghana in 1997, and Russia in 1999). Unfortunately, I cannot find all of my notebooks, otherwise I would put more here.
Many people consider religion to be a very private thing, that's fine with me. However, my belief in the Lord Jesus Christ is not a religion. Religion is based on deeds, works. My salvation is not based on my own goodness or works. The Bible says our righteousness is filthy rags; the best we can do is naught. God sent Jesus to Earth to die on the cross for our sins. This was the only way, if there was another way to forgive our sins, He would have done it. Therefore, telling others about the gift of Christ Jesus is very important to me. However, it doesn't mean I need to be rude, etc. I'm not perfect. It is my responsibility to love everyone, no matter what, because Christ loved me despite what I am, what I have been, and what I will never (in this life) be.

P.S. I have a job at a local Movie Theatre/Restaurant right now but I would still love to get a job working with HTML. As you can see, I've spent some time fixing up my webpage, so it makes for a nice addition to the portfolio.
What is Final Rain?
This section addresses the signifigance of Final Rain. Final Rain is a reference to the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in the last days. It is also hope where there should be none. When all the world is falling apart around you, you can have hope in Christ, the final rain is a reminder of this.
Joel 2:23Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.
Zecheriah 10:1Ask ye of the LORD rain in the time of the latter rain; so the LORD shall make bright clouds, and give them showers of rain, to every one grass in the field.
James 5:7Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.
