Lately journalists and career medianicks have been asking us
questions like.....
So you're frustrated filmmakers then ?
or
Are you the British new wave cinema ?
or
So your "film club" is angry because you don't get state funding
and recognition ?
Now this line of inquiry only betrays the complete inability of most media
slags to look beyond their own self serving ambition, they cannot grasp
the possibility that a group of film/video makers would rather work in the
no budget freedom of the underground than aspire to a career in the culturally
bankrupt fragments of the British Film Industry, that we would never exchange
the no budget equality and democracy of the underground for the affluent
servitude of the British Film Industry....
Moreover the media hacks don't realise that far from wanting to join the
"Industry" we want to raise it to the ground and turn the land
into allotments.
"Film club" ... kiss my ring !
