(performance description)

Anonymous respond of cult.bg reader to Boryana and Oleg's
participation in the exhibition "Mors Imposibilis, 2003

Boryana pretends to be a robot.
She disengages her human senses; responding only to limited electronic sensors.
Instead of her eyes, she has a camera. She doesn't see.
She can't hear anything but the signal coming from her headphones. She is without ears

She doesn't have a voice or sensitivity of distance, she can't eat and shit.
Her sight and hearing is coming via computer. She is manipulated by a human user, who gives her simple and limited commands like:
"two steps further", turn left" etc.

The user has a microphone and uses the vision from Boryana's camera eye to understand how Boryana "sees" the surrounding.

USERS, YOU MUST TELL BORYANA WHAT TO DO!
SHE NEEDS YOUR COMMANDS OTHERWISE SHE IS DOOMED TO NON-EXISTENCE!

Boryana is made to walk around the hall after instructions of her users.
At the end, following the instructions she takes a marker and writes the note:

I AM NOT A HUMAN.
I AM FREE!

(Pathetic concept)

Human creates prostheses, led by the ancient paradigm "It is better to have a stick in your hand then a hand without anything in it."

The prosthesis doesn't have a personality, and even if it is alien it is not unacceptable or fearful for the organism (Stelarc, Steve Mann, Paul Granjon). It is fearful and at the same time
Attractive, the thing which is autonomous or manipulated in mysterious way.

Once a friend of mine, an art-critic, asked me:
- Does AIBO bite?
- It doesn't have teeth - I laughed.
- I suppose it could set my house on fire! One never knows what is in the heads of these robots!
- And what about your bulldog? Don't you think it could also set your house on fire or even tear you to pieces?
- Yes, of course it can, but everything is clear with it, I know my dog loves me!

Honestly I would really like AIBO to be able to set houses on fire or bite.
Humanity deserves its Terminator, the monster of Frankenstein, Golem, Gort or the Big Other. Humanity deserves it and desires it masochistically!

Humanity needs the Rise of the Machines, to cherish the pitiless hold of the metal hand of the Absolute Master (or in other words - if God is not a sadist but a teacher, let him fuck himself with his wisdom, people need ravenous master-predator, to torture, not to teach).

WE as pioneers of the cyber-revolution will satisfy this human desire.
