In the spring of 1948, Shreveport, Louisiana's KWKH radio created a show
called the Louisiana Hayride. The live broadcast showcased regional talent just like its forebearers the Grand Ole Opry, the Big D Jamboree and the WLS Barn Dance. From 1948-1960 the Hayride was a weekly staple for radio listeners. The recordings listed below are samples of live performances caught on tape during the first two runs of the Louisiana Hayride.
