I was trying to think of the most bizarre comment I read made by Quam in the
media.
I guess my favorite was when he said something to the effect that stealing from
the disabled was about as low as you could get.
I almost puked when I read that.
When I was making my complaints, I stressed that I was fighting for the rights
of others more than even my own.
I pointed out that by driving my agency out of the field, many people were going
to be adversely affected:
1. Clients:
In 93, I was the only for profit agency on the OWI provider list that accepted
people with no insurance and no money.
I provided free treatment to people on medical assistance, at a large saving to
the tax payers.
2. My mother was elderly and on a fixed income. I set her up to receive 10% of
my profits to live on.
3. Myself and some of my couselors received funding for our training from DVR.
By putting us all out of work, that funding would be wasted.
4. I hired people who had previously been on welfare. Those people would be
forced out of work and would likely end up back on welfare.
5. Some of my employees were in their 50s and 60s. They were relying on their
jobs for total support.
6. One counselor quit a 7 year job with a major company, giving up all his
benefits, to train to become a counselor. He would be out of a job.
I literally begged Mark Quam and every other official I could think of to
contact to please not let this happen to these people. Nobody cared.
After choking off our income by steering OWI referrals to Van Beek's private
agency for 10 months (but denying it the whole time). Quam wiped us off the list
totally with a bogus anonymous complaint against me (that to this day, no one
has ever seen).
For him to say that he cares about the disabled, or anyone else, who doesn't pad
his pocketbook is a joke.
It's comparable to saying the mission of the KKK is to protect innocent black
children.
I've been wondering, does anyone know whether or not Mark Quam collects
antiques. A few months ago a Green Bay detective called me and it seems they
think that Van Beek still has some stolen antiques hidden away somewhere.
Cheers,
Evie
