LEAGUE :-
The Predators finalised their 99 season with a walkover win against Nth Caulfield 3 - 0. The Predators have been more than a match for their opposition during the regular season, being undefeated through 20 matches scoring 118 goals and only conceding 2.
CARLTON CUP :-
This competition is sponsored by NSL club Carlton for those clubs recognised as feeder organisations. Each age group competes in a round robin competition.
The U11 final was played in front of an enthusiastic crowd numbering 300 or more and spectators got entertainment value in a engrossing final.
In the early exchanges meadow park were clearly on top and only some outstanding efforts by Matt, Adam and keeper Robbie kept the meadow park players from celebrating early in the match. Right on half time Meadow Park scored.
The second half brought about a change in the predators, chasing and fighting for every ball. This enthusiasm eventially paid off when a Meadow Park player handled the ball in the box. The resultant penalty calmly slotted away by Matt.
At the end of normal time the scores were level, In the following 5 mins each way of extra time, Berwick dominated but were un-able to score. This meant the dreaded penalty shoot out.
At the end of the five penalties the scores were still level at 2-2. Now it was sudden death, the first team to miss lost. Alex stepped up for Berwick and put the ball in the back of the net. Now it was Meadow Park's turn. A good clean shot but Robbie guessed the direction and saved! Berwick retaining the cup for the second year.
