November 17th. - A Winter Within has discontinued all plans for a Dutch tour next year.This is due to the extremely lousy work of a lazy and poor operations of an amateur booking agency. The agency mentioned has failed on all accounts concerning the finalization of the tourplans. So to account for it in short terms there will for now be no tour next year thanks to the illfated efforts of a newbie booking company. Alas, A Winter Within will ALWAYS prevail!!

October 18th. - Grand news for the future!! A Winter Within is going on tour in February 2001. First off, before the tour there will be a gig in Stavanger, Norway some time in January. The tour will last one week with five shows, one in Belgium, and the rest in Holland. Consertdates and their respective locactions will be released as soon as they are confirmed. Check the Tourdates page in the future! A Danish tour is also in the workings...This is still a bit vague, but the word is that A Winter Within will do this tour with Panzerchrist and Enslaved. Although it is all in the progress, this tour will not take place until late March/April next year. 

August - As a new addition to the band, Dominy, has joined A Winter Within to play the syntesized parts at forthcoming liveshows. This step has been taken to give Morloc a chance to focus on his vocal performances at rehearsals as well as on stage

June - After over a year and a half on the lookout for a second guitarplayer, the noose finally loosens... A Winter Within has inplemented a danish guitarist that has played with both danish the deathmetal band Panzerchrist and 122 Stab Wounds. Still in the stagees of working through existing material, everything seems to be working out fine. If the new addition to the band will be only a live session member or more is inconlusive at the moment. S Winter has - in the same vein as Laeturnus - accepted the offer from Forlorn and try out as a session member for liveshows. This will by no measurements have any effect on A Winter Within...

May 1st. - The release of Lamentia has been delayed and put off to at least may 15th. This is due to extremely unprofessional handling of the cd from both the pressig company and the company that was given the job of printing the cover for the cd. Both Wyvern Prod. and A Winter Within are unpleased with the treatment they have been given during this process, since the delay is a result of a third hand's indifferent attitude towards deadlines set in advance...

April 27th - It has been comfirmed that A Winter Within will be one of several bands to feature on Wyvern Productions compilation cd out this summer. The cd will be a double cd, also featuring names like Horna, Myrmidon, Lukenborg, and more... The number of tracks AWW will put on that cd is yet unknown. Whether one or more unreleased tracks shall be recorded for this release is for the time being is uncertain, although a strong possibility.

April - A promotional video of the band is currently in the making. The video will be uploaded on the samples page when it is done. The clip will only give a short presentation of the band with live footage and a soundsample from the upcoming cd Lamentia.

March - Laeturnus has accepted the request to join Stavanger based Epic Metal band Forlorn as session live bassplayer. This will however have no impact upon his efforts with A Winter Within...

February 4th. - March 14th. - The re-recoring of the upcoming album titled Lamentia once more took place in Sagevik Lydstudio, and everything went according to expectations. This time nothing was rushed, and the recording was done over a period of over a month - thus giving a better result in the end.

February - A Winter Within is approaced by Alaska based label Wyvern Productions. After several emails and weeks of communcation between the band and the label a record deal slowly came together. A Winter Within have now signed to Wyvern Productions for this one release to begin with. The cd will be released in no more 500 copies as an underground release. As far as possible the cd will be released May 1st. A Winter Within will also appear on a compilation cd from Wyvern Productions, featuring (according to rumours) Horna

January 12th. - At the final stage of mixing a dropout was found in two of the songs. The droput being a result of productionfault on one of the ADAT tapes, thus being impossible to repair or mask. The only option was to record the whole cd over again. A Winter Within will therefore enter the studio once more. The new dates have been set to the 4th.of February.

1999

December 17th.-19th. - Recordings took place at Sagevik Lydstudio, Stavanger as scheduled, with things progressing after aspectations. The drumtracks/guitar and bass were laid down on the 17th. and 18th. the vocals and the extras were taken on the last day of recording. Mixing and mastering were done in the following weeks.

December -The studiodates are finally set... From 17th. to 19th. December A Winter Within will be recording the new demo. This release will be of far better soundquality than the promo, featuring five tracks this time. The songs planned to be recorded are a re-recording of the three promo songs plus two new tracks. A releasedate for the recording is vaguely set to mid January/beginning of February. Updates on the recording will be posted as soon as possible.

October 2nd. - First live appearence ever!!! Although no more than 40-50 people were present, the gig can be described as a success. Four bands played at this gig in A Winter's hometown Stavanger, also performing was Stavangerbased deathmetal band 122 Stabwounds. Liveshots from the gig are posted in the GALLERY.

September 20th. - The promo, FROSTBITTEN, is released for sale. No more than 50 copies were issued for this release, pending AWW's forthcoming demo.
