How to Make and Play an Assamite in the Hall
Background and more Background Primarily you should know the basics of an Assamite and how they are played. The clan is one of the most restrictive when it comes to personality and individuality. Assamite's are cold-blooded killers who are devoted to the clan and Haqim. So if you want to play a sex slave or a character that is shy and timid I suggest a different clan would be more to your liking Assamite's are chosen carefully, watched for a long time, only then taken to Alamut Mountain in Turkey. The Mortals are trained in groups, and the first stage of training is for them to learn each others skills. The recruits serve at Alamut for seven years -- as guards and menials, and as a Herd for the Rafiq who reside there. They are inducted into the outer mysteries of the Path of Blood, becoming ghouls near the end of their training and learning how to use the superhuman powers confered by Assamite Blood. At the end of the seven-year training period, the decision is made as to which prospects are worthy of the Embrace. This is carried out at a great ceremony, held at the same time each year, which all senior members of the clan attend. Every Assamite tries to return to Alamut for the Embrace; it is one of the clans most important rituals, and it is important that clan members are able to recognize one another by sight. The Embrace is given using the Heartblood of the Clan, symbolizing the fact that the Clan, rather than an individual sire, is the true focus of loyalty. Those recruits not selected for the Embrace provide the feast which follows the ceremony. Your character will have then been sent to Boston to aid Siraj al Din (The Castellan of Boston) were you will remain as a Childe for 30 days. During this time, you will be trained by his Silsila in the ways of our Umma (community), decorum, Lex rules etc. and then made Fida`i. Appearance Assamites tend to dress stylishly, but practically. It would be hard to carry out an assassination in high heels and dress The more ancient an Assamite becomes, the darker is his/her skin. (Unlike other Vampires who's skin grows paler with age): Siraj for instance is almost ebony in complexion. Most Assamites hail from Asia Minor or northern Africa, have been involved with assassinations, wet work or terrorist activities for some portion of their mortal lives. Recently, the clan has embraced many neonates from the Western stock among which it moves, particularly soldiers, criminals and street gangsters. Respect of your elders Pay close attention to this, for it may very well keep your char from being reclaimed! Al-Salaam is the main greeting of our brothers and sisters and should always be used High ranking down. In other words if you came into a room where Siraj the Castellen is, as well as joe bob the child dont run up to Joe bob saying Al-Salaam Joey! One should bow according to rank Harun-al-Rachid who is Silsila may bow only slightly with a nod when greeting your character, but he would drop to his knee in a bow to Siraj showing great respect for his Castellan. If Thaden who is also Silsila in rank asked your char to run to the store for some rope, come back panting. If your char replied get it yourself, expect to be sent back to Alamut in a jar, packed in a box, marked return to sender . To a Gangrel or other Kafir you may show as much contempt as you think your dice pool will allow Here is a great site to go check out for info on Assamites I would like to give much thanks to the following for making this Web page possable White Wolf for making such a great RPG!
