WORK HISTORY

1999- Contract Technical Writer/Illustrator, Allied Signal Aerospace, Redmond, Washington – Developed documentation plan, database, and all procedures for OSHA controlled maintenance instructions per ATA 100 documentation requirements.

The Regence Group, Tacoma, Washington - Assigned to REMAC Infrastructure Project Team. Documented IS and IT procedures for four state Blue Cross organizations, including software imaging, software/hardware configurations, and customer support procedures per contract assignment.

AT&T Aviation Communications Division, Seattle, Washington – Wrote component maintenance manuals and repair procedures to ATA 100 standards per contract assignment.

Writer/Planner/Project Manager/, Hot Cell Services, Kent, Washington – Responsible for writing and editing manufacturing, repair and operating procedures. Primary duties include writing DOD/DOE work procedures, and the development and implementation of manufacturing and fabrication procedures. Responsible for coordinating with international customers to ensure technical requirements, local regulations, and occupational safety laws were met. Responsible for layout, style, and design of documents. Wrote ISO 9001 compliant document control instruction for company.

1997 Contract Technical Writer/Editor, Superior Design, on contract to The Boeing Company. Assigned to E/E and Engineering Product Documentation Teams. Responsible for the documentation of new design engineering processes and policies per ATA 100 guidelines. Wrote two engineering websites for the Boeing Company. Integrated Design Engineering processes with Manufacturing Engineering. Wrote and edited new Boeing Drafting Standards. Wrote and graphically represented engineering business processes on-line for the Boeing Company. Received numerous awards for accuracy and timely completion of work.

Production Work Control Supervisor, Assistant QA/QC Officer, USS Florida (SSBN 728) Responsible for the planning, tracking, lockout, and control of over 3,000 discrete work items conducted during a nuclear submarine overhaul, including engineering, weapons, navigation, and structural systems.

Senior Technical Writer/Editor, Production Controller, Trident Refit Facility, Bangor, WA Responsible for writing detailed technical procedures to maintain, repair, and alter the engineering plants of the submarines stationed at Bangor, WA. Supervised a shift of five technical writers. Received numerous awards for accuracy, timely completion, and ingenuity.

Technical Writer/Editor, Production Controller, USS Simon Lake (AS-33), Holy Loch, Scotland Responsible for writing detailed technical procedures to conduct emergent repair, modification, and alteration jobs to the engineering plants of submarines in the North Atlantic. Acted as liaison engineer for the ship in cases requiring concurrence from Washington, D.C., or General Dynamics.

Engineering Watch Supervisor, QA Liaison, Maintenance Writer, USS Aspro (SSN 648) Responsible for supervising the operation, maintenance, and repair of the nuclear powered engineering plant. Responsible for the planning and execution of complex maintenance and installation tasks assigned to the ship.
