THINGS WE DO

We scratch a dog behind its' ears
We kiss a child to stop the tears
We wash our car to make it rain
Think we are the only one that's sane
It is not important that we understand
Why everything did not go as planned
Lovers rush, while others wait
Who knows what could be fate
As sure as there will be sunshine on another day
There will always be someone who might go away
As one could admire a babbling brook
Some might not give it a second look
While some things in life may seem unfair
Just be pleased if you have done your share
A lesson we should learn from each mistake we do
The lesson I have learned I will share with you
Looking at each sunrise we should say
This is the start of a glorious day
Reflecting on the sunset at night
We are lucky to see such a beautiful sight
Enjoy each moment and treasure you find
